Shea butter (Vitellaria Paradoxa) is the butter of the Shea or Shi tree from the
family of Sapotaceae trees. These tress are indigenous to West Africa only. This
tree starts to produce the fruit, resembling a large plum, after 15 years and will
produce up till 200 years. Prized for its fatty acid content, Shea butter is like no
other moisturizure. It is high in palmitic, stearic, oleic,linoleic, and arachidic acid;
and it is the stearic and oleic that dominates. As stated before, shea butter is and
excellent moisturizure; but it it also excellent for use on cuts, burns, and bruises.
Shea butter is also rich in vitamins A,E, &F. Shea butter also has cinnamic acid,
